Compositor, arreglista, director de orquesta y multiinstrumentista alemán, nacido en Hamburgo, el 16 de octubre de 1923 y fallecido en Mallorca, el 21 de junio de 1980. Pionero en hacer arreglos de la música de jazz, para adaptarla a un público general. Escribió canciones como "Wonderland by Night", "Strangers in the Night"; "Spanish Eyes", "Swinging Safari". Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial formó su propia orquesta.
